ACH, MLCA girls move on at state

YAKIMA, Wash. — The Almira/Coulee-Hartline Lady Warriors and the Moses Lake Christian Academy Lady Lions moved within a win of placing at the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) 1B girls state basketball tournament at the Yakime SunDome.

The Lady Warriors knocked off the Pateros Nannies 53-22 Thursday in their consolation-bracket game. ACH will take on Taholah Friday afternoon in another loser-out contest.

ACH fell into the consolation bracket Wednesday night when the top-ranked Lady Warriors fell to the St. John-Endicott Eagles 60-42 in the first round of the WIAA 1B tournament.

The Moses Lake Christian Lady Lions advanced in the consolation bracket with a 33-22 victory over the Wishkah Valley Loggerettes of Aberdeen. Moses Lake Christian returned to the court this morning in the consolation bracket against the Neah Bay Lady Reds.

The Lady Lions fell into the consolation bracket Wednesday morning when they fell to the Sprague-Harrington Falcons 31-26.

If both the ACH Lady Warriors and the MLCA Lady Lions win their consolation games today, they will meet for fifth and eighth place Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m.
