COULEE CITY — For the first time in Almira/Coulee-Hartline’s history, both the boys and girls basketball programs will travel together to the Yakima SunDome and the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association state tournaments.

The Lady Warriors basketball team heads into the state tournament with a 22-1 record and are coming off B-County district championship win over Sprague-Harrington.

The Lady Warriors also made a run through the 2008 tournament last season. The Lady Warriors were one win away from placing at last year’s state tournament.

Despite earning their second consecutive trip to the SunDome, the future remains bright for the Lady Warriors. The ACH girls roster includes just two seniors and is void of juniors.

Seniors Megan Osborne and Kazia Starkenberger provide leadership for the underclassmen, which includes three sophomores and five freshmen.

The Lady Warriors earned the Northeast District’s No. 1 seed to the state tournament with the win over Sprague-Harrington Saturday.

The Warriors boys team will head to the state tournament with a 18-4 record and a nine-game winning streak.

The ACH girls team kicks off the state tournament today with a game against Taholah.

The ACH boys will battle St. John-Endicott in the first round this afternoon.
