Walker chosen CWAC co-MVP

OTHELLO — Othello senior Allison Walker led the Lady Huskies to a 14-4 Central Washington Athletic Conference record and to the district playoffs on her way to being named the CWAC girls basketball co-Player of the Year.

Walker shares the distinction with Lacie French of top-ranked Prosser.

While Walker was named co-Player of the Year, she wasn’t the only Lady Husky to receive recognition from the CWAC coaches.

Othello sophomore Christine Kirkwood and junior Kylee Mollotte were second-team selections with Ephrata freshman Kelsey Yenny.

Ephrata also had an honorable mention choice in sophomore Abby Smith and Quincy junior Dayanna Lopez also was an honorable mention selection.

Othello head coach Laurie Stickel and Prosser head coach Mark Little shared the Coach of the Year award.

Quincy and Selah shared the sportsmanship award.

Co-Coach of the Year: Mark Little, Prosser.

Sportmandship Award: Quincy and Selah

First Team: Kinzi Poteet, Grandview; Tamara Jones, Prosser; Lauren Walker, East Valley; Casey Kelleher, Ellensburg; Deaira Gordon, Ellensburg.

Second Team: Christine Kirkwood, Othello; A.J. Yarlott, Wapato; Kendall Hull, East Valley; Aracely Zuniga, Toppenish; Kelsey Yenney, Ephrata; Kylee Mollotte, Othello.

Honorable Mention: Hannah Cordova, Wapato; Dayanna Lopez, Quincy; Kelli Wilson, Prosser; Doris Lupercio, Grandview; Abby Smith, Ephrata.
