Bridal show is success

MOSES LAKE — The Columbia Basin Herald’s 11th Annual Bridal Show attracted significant traffic Saturday from people planning for their big day.

The event, held at Moses Lake Convention Center, included booths from more than 40 vendors, prizes and a fashion show.

 “We got a lot of information on hair supplies, dresses, tuxedos — We got tons of candy,” said Christina Colee, who is engaged to be married.

Colee left the event with a sack of information from the vendors and a singing puppet she won.

She pulled out a small cake sampler she was given to take home to her fiancé.

“I saw cool things,” said future stepdaughter, Chyanne Salinas, 10. “The cakes were cool, and a lot of the dresses were pretty.”

Outside, a 32-foot Hummer limousine on display by Katrina’s Wedding Boutique attracted some attention.

Brianna Kinkade, 7, said she had never been in a limousine before and thought it was “cool.”

The two TVs inside the vehicle were her favorite feature.

Columbia Basin Herald Sales Manager Kelly Thomas said the event was really busy and appeared to generate more visitors than last year.

“It’s been a steady flow of traffic all day,” Thomas said.

Future bride Kellee Brown traveled to the show from Mar-Don with her sister Kaysee Brown and mother Bonney Brown.

“We’re on the hunt for a dress … and cakes,” Kellee said.

Bonney said Kellee is the first of her six children to get married.

Carla Sams and Carol Tusberg found themselves looking through a book of photography by Jonda Spurbeck Photography.

Sams and Tusberg explained they created the flowers for one of the photographed weddings.

“We’re admiring our work,” joked Tusberg.

Sams said it is the first time she has seen the flowers photographed.

“(Jonda) did a wonderful job, just awesome job,” Sams said.

Sams’ son may be getting married, which is one reason she attended the event.
