MOSES LAKE — After starting the 2008-2009 girls basketball season with five consecutive losses, the Moses Lake Christian Academy girls basketball team has won eight consecutive games, including their 47-32 district semifinal win over the Wilson Creek Devils Monday night.

With the victory over the Devils, the Lady Lions will face Pateros Saturday afternoon for the district’s No. 1 seed to the state tournament next week in Yakima.

The winner of Saturday’s district championship game will head into the Yakima SunDome with the district’s top seed and the district runner up will be the second seed to state.

Monday’s district semifinal victory over Wilson Creek secured the first trip to the state tournament for the Moses Lake Christian girls basketball program.

Moses Lake Christian split the regular season series with Pateros.

The Lady Lions lost at home to Pateros 43-29 on Jan. 24.

Moses Lake Christian rectified the loss to Pateros just six days later with a 46-44 win on the road.

The Lady Lions beat Pateros when Hannah Dietzen scored on a layup with just seconds remaining in the contest.
