Lady Tigers rolls past Lady Jacks

EPHRATA — The Ephrata Lady Tigers hosted the Quincy Lady Jack Tuesday night in Central Washington Athletic Conference girls basketball competition.

In the end the Lady Tigers were too much for the Lady Jacks and Ephrata rolled to a 59-34 victory.

Tuesday night was senior night at Ephrata High School and the Lady Tigers were able to take advantage of the energy coming form the capacity crowd.

The Lady Tigers were led on the court by senior Justine Hintz’s game-leading 11 points and Ephrata ran out to an 18-6 first-quarter lead.

Ephrata continued to pressure Quincy in the second quarter.

The Ephrata offense managed to keep Quincy to just three second-quarter points as the Lady Jacks took a 29-9 lead heading into the locker room.

The Lady Tigers came out in the second half fired up and pushed a 20-point halftime lead into a 45-17 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

While the Lady Tigers took a commanding lead In the final quarter, the Jacks were able to outscore the Lady Tigers 17-14 down the stretch, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap.

Quincy junior Taylor Kunkel led the Lady Jacks with eight points.
