Eluterio P. (Teyo) Valdez

Eluterio P. (Teyo) Valdez, 85, took Jesus’ hand to join his heavenly family on Feb. 12, 2009, at Southwest Medical Center, Vancouver, Wash.

Eluterio was born on Feb. 23, 1923, in Ceralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and was the youngest of eight children. A resident of Moses Lake since 1954, he was an agricultural laborer and employed many years with companies like U&I Sugar, Carnation and Masto Produce.

Eluterio was preceded in death by his son, Luis, his four brothers and three sisters and his parents, Matilde and Pablo Gonzalez Valdez.

He leaves behind his former wife, Maria de la Luz Escamilla of Othello, his children Juan (Minerva) Valdez, Rafael (Maria) Valdez, Luis Valdez, Elvira (Lorenzo) Serna, Jose Guadalupe Valdez, Pablo (Gloria) Valdez, Matilde (Rodrigo) Ozuna, Maria de la Luz Marquez, and numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is missed and loved by all who knew him.

Following a vigil from noon to 1:30 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima, the mass of Christian burial was held, followed by a committal service at Pioneer Memorial Gardens and a reception at the CCD center following interment. Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Benson Family Funeral Home, Moses Lake.

The Valdez family would like to thank the Sacred Heart ladies and Father Filipe at the Catholic Church, Benson Funeral Home, family and friends in our community who have been so loving and caring.
