Air service to restart in Moses Lake

| February 17, 2009 8:00 PM

MOSES LAKE — Commercial air service will restart in Grant County in June, with flights available from Moses Lake to Seattle via SkyWest and United Airlines, the Port of Moses Lake announced Tuesday.

“We are very excited to have commercial air service operating out of the Grant County International Airport,” stated port Manager Craig Baldwin. “It is terrific to be able to provide those in our community this opportunity.”

Area businesses showed their support for air service by pledging $517,500 to an airline travel bank. The money is considered prepayment for airline tickets.

A flight schedule from Moses Lake to Seattle will be released at the end of the week.

The announcement comes two years after commercial air service was stopped in Grant County, forcing residents to drive to airports in Seattle, Spokane and East Wenatchee to catch flights.
