| February 16, 2009 8:00 PM

R. Kent “Rooster” Keele, 52, died in his home on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, in Moses Lake.

Kent was born Aug. 15, 1956, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Ronald Henry and Joyce A. (Hastings) Keele.

Kent loved horses, he was a horseman pretty much all his life. He loved to restore old furniture and putting a “cowboy touch” on each of his works. Every piece had a brand also. He will be remembered as a great cook, he loved BBQ, he made the best chili, sauerkraut and pork. He loved the outdoors, fishing and especially his dog Pete. He will especially be remembered for his love of his dear family, especially his wife, son, mother, aunts, uncles and his only brother Rex. Kent was not a stranger to the Lord Jesus Christ, he knew him as his personal savior and friend.

Kent is survived by his wife Jackie A. Keele, mother Joyce A. Keele, brother Rex A. Keele, all of Moses Lake, son Justin Kent Keele, of St. Augustine, Fla., stepsons and wives Rick (Maria) Purkey of Bartlesville, Okla., Chris (Marie) Hill of Tulsa, Okla., stepdaughter and husband Andrea (Donnie) Ruggles of Collinsville, Okla., stepsons Chris Childers and Michael Childers of Florida, and his grandbabies Shiloh, Dariana, Kevin, Austin, Daniel and Ysabella, two nephews, Todd Keele of Wyoming, and Adam Keele of Utah, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Kent was preceded in death by his father, Ronald in 2000; his grandparents Dewey and Frances Hastings and Earl and Florence Keele.
