MOSES LAKE — The fire damaging a Moses Lake home is now considered suspicious.

The fire could be arson, according to a Moses Lake police record.

The fire began on the outside of the West Lakeside Drive home in Moses Lake Wednesday afternoon, Moses Lake Assistant Fire Chief Brett Bastian said. The fire spread into a room and smoke damaged the house.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

A neighbor called 9-1-1 after seeing flames coming from the rear and side of the home.

When firefighters arrived they began to douse the burning area with water. They also kicked in the front door and broke a window to see if anyone was inside. When the fire was first reported, it was unclear if anyone was in the burning home.

A propane tank was at the rear of the house. It is unclear if it was involved with the cause of the fire.
