MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Chiefs hosted the Lions of Kennewick in Columbia Basin Big Nine boys basketball competition Saturday night.

The Chiefs entered Saturday night’s game with a 4-6 conference record as Moses Lake hosted the winless Lions.

Moses Lake seniors Isac Bergeson and Josh Loera played solidly for the Chiefs and Moses Lake rolled to the 55-45 home victory.

Bergeson led the Chiefs with 21 points and Loera added 17 to push Moses Lake past Kennewick.

The first quarter was up for grabs early as both the Chiefs and the Lions wanted to establish ball-control, said Chiefs assistant coach Jacob Hunt.

“We came out early and we wanted to control things,” he said.

The Chiefs fell behind 14-8 early in the first quarter before rallying for a 26-24 lead at the half.

Moses Lake exited the locker room for the third quarter ready to play and began to put the game away behind the precision shooting both Bergeson and Loera.

The Chiefs controlled the tempo in the second half as the pushed their way to a 55-45 victory and a 5-6 conference record.

Moses Lake returns to the court tonight when they host the Davis Pirates at 7:30 p.m.
