Louise Gertrude Kluth

| February 9, 2009 8:00 PM

Louise Gertrude Kluth, 87, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at her home.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1020 S. A St., Moses Lake.

Louise was born during a snow storm in rural South Dakota on Feb. 1, 1922, to parents Wiebe and Jeannette Schaafsma. She moved with her family to the Castle Rock, Wash., area when she was 5 years old. She attended school in Castle Rock and met her future husband, Emil Kluth, while working at a boarding home. She married Emil on Feb. 1, 1939.

Louise loved her family. She had two sons and two daughters and worked tirelessly trying to do the best she could for them. When grandchildren came along, she fell in love with each and every one – each was a special gift.

You can’t think about Louise without visualizing her in her garden. She loved working the earth and nurturing the flower beds. Whether inside or out, she was always surrounded by her flowers and plants.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband Emil in 1987, her son Ron in 1995 and her son Bob in 2004; her parents, brothers Louie, Bill, Ray and Dick and her sister Thelma; by Emil’s parents, brothers and sisters, and other relatives … too many to list, but all loved deeply by Louise.

She is survived by her brothers, Roy Schaafsma, and daughters and sons-in-law, Lynette and Paul Manor and Annette and Spencer Clark; by daughter-in-law Kaye Kluth; grandchildren, Ronda and Don Smith, Brian and Jamie Kluth, Bill and Laressa Kluth, Cally and Jason Grieb, Carrie and Larry Reibli, Paul Manor, Melissa and Rod Shipley, Jim and Billie Jo Pettis, the great-grands: Danielle, Andrew, Sean, Casey, Madison, Ronnie, Julene, BriAnne, Jonelle, Matthew, JayCee, Bradon, Tate, Morgan, Katelyn and Emilie; one great-great, Aiden.

Arrangements are in care of Kayser’s Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake. You may sign the guestbook or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com.
