| February 6, 2009 8:00 PM

EPHRATA — A bomb threat was reported at Ephrata High School Thursday morning.

No bomb was located, Ephrata Police Chief Joe Varick stated.

At roughly 8:17 a.m., the Multi-Agency Communication Center (MACC) received a phone call from someone claiming there was a bomb inside the high school.

“Search teams of Ephrata police and Ephrata school district staff were assembled and all high school buildings, parking lots and exterior areas were searched,” Varick stated. “Nothing was found.”

Students were allowed back into the building and class resumed about one hour after the search began.

People with information about the incident can contact the police department at 509-754-2491 or MACC at 509-762-1160.
