Wade Staiger

| February 4, 2009 8:00 PM

A yearlong battle with esophageal cancer ended on Feb. 2, 2009, as Wade Emanuel Staiger went to be with Jesus.

Family surrounded Wade as he was delivered safe into His arms and the angels rejoiced in Wade’s homecoming.

Wade was born Dec. 20, 1944, in Hebron, N.D., to Emanuel and Marie Staiger. He was the youngest child and only son who was dearly loved by his older sisters Betty Helbling (deceased) and Ruby Perschke. Wade graduated from Missoula County High School in 1963.

Wade is survived by his high school sweetheart, Dorie, whom he married on June 5, 1964. He also leaves behind his beloved children, Shawn and Trisha Staiger of Puyallup, Wash., and Trevor and Kelly Staiger of Vacaville, Calif. His sons were the pride of his life and he loved his daughters-in-law as if they were his own. Of his many joys, he cherished his time with his two grandchildren, Taryn (“Baby Girl”) and Ryan (“Little Man”).

Wade never met a stranger and was many things to many people. Some of the roles he flourished in were husband, father, grandfather, faithful servant to the Lord, dedicated employee, friend to all and role model to many. Wade loved his family, friends, neighbors and community with ease as the Lord commands us to do. The beautiful outpouring of love from all of these people is a testimony to this man’s spirit.

Although we grieve, we will continue to spread Wade’s message; he wanted all to know that his suffering was nothing like Christ’s and his hope is to see you all again someday in glory.

Wade is gone from this earth, but not from our hearts.
