EPHRATA — Martin Borcas Robles, 18, is charged with attempted first degree murder, premeditated with criminal intent, in Grant County Superior Court.

He is being held in the Grant County Jail with bail set at $1 million, according to court records.

He is scheduled for arraignment Feb. 9.

Early Sunday morning Robles allegedly shot his 23-year-old roommate, in the torso and arm, in their home at the Marine View Heights housing area, Grant County Sheriff’s Office Detective Matt Messer said Tuesday.

The housing area is in unincorporated Grant County between Othello and Potholes Reservoir.

The two men allegedly consumed alcohol and were arguing over a blanket, he said.

The victim was shot six times with a rifle.

After being shot, the victim was able to run from the residence to a store near Mar Don, Messer said. The store clerk called 9-1-1 to report the injured man.

He was transported to Samaritan Healthcare where he was stabilized, Messer said. The victim  was later transported to a hospital in Spokane.

Robles allegedly fled the area in a red passenger car. The sheriff’s office informed other law enforcement agencies to locate the vehicle and Robles.

The Washington State Patrol located the suspect vehicle unoccupied, parked next to a residence near Road 13 Southeast, between Othello and Royal City, trooper Rich Magnussen said. Three troopers found Robles inside the residence and arrested him Sunday.
