Moses Lake Christian rolls
MOSES LAKE — The North Central Washington 1B league champions Moses Lake Christian Academy Lions rolled to a 21-5 first quarter lead and never looked back on their way to a 59-27 win over the visiting Cascade Christian Academy Wolverines.
The Moses Lake Christian offense was potent in the first half and the defense stiffened to hold the Wolverines to five points in each of the first two quarters for a 38-10 lead at the half.
Moses Lake Christian head coach Lonnie Brown said his team was able to improve some fundamentals his team had focused on in practice.
“We were able to work on some things,” he said. “We didn’t look too bad.”
Moses Lake Christian seniors Adrian Moffet and Riggs Yarbro led the Lions offense Tuesday night. Moffet led Moses Lake Christian with 20 points and Yarbro added 14 as the star pair were the only Lions to score in double figures.
While Moffet and Yarbro led the Lions on offense, junior Johnny Roberts helped give Moses Lake Christian a spark on defense,” Brown said.
“Johnny has been playing really well lately,” he said.
The Lions return to action Saturday night when they travel to Entiat, and Yarbro said he hopes his team will return with a victory.
“I would love to beat them,” he said.
