His family moved to Moses Lake in 1949 where Merle attended school, graduating in 1959. Merle participated in baseball and football. He attended Central Washington University. He then served in the Army Signal Corps in France form 1963-1965. Merle returned to Moses Lake where he had a great love for outdoor sports. He was dedicated to hunting, fishing, 4-wheel driving, trap shooting, drag racing … especially his ’41 Willys, snowmobiling, and golfing. He was an excellent mechanic.

Merle worked for Hochstatters Electric for 19 years, before starting his own company Clemmo Electric, which he ran with integrity for over 21 years.

A gentle giant Merle was well liked and respected for his knowledge and his ability to make people feel special. He lived his life with honor. He had a kind heart and generous spirit, and went out of his way to help others. ?He was a ‘go to guy’ if you were stumped or needed information. He taught so many so much.

He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and a treasured friend. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother in law Ernest Graems. He is survived by his cherished wife of 35 years, Sharon Clemmo, his 6 step children Nancy, David, Jerry, Michael (Debbie), Walter (Belinda) and Steven (Ildiko) Banks, his brother Ward (Maxine) Clemmo, his sisters Irene Graems and Betty (Carl) Hollingsworth, and 20 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
