MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake police Cpl. Annalisa Dobson was presented with a plaque of appreciation for her work during an accreditation audit.

“Earlier this year, your Moses Lake Police Department passed an accreditation audit,” said police Chief Dean Mitchell. “The audit which is not required, is performed by trained assessors and sponsored by the Washington Association of Sheriff’s and Police Chiefs.”

During the process, Dobson was the accreditation manager, he said.

“This extensive process assures that police agencies are practicing current recommended policies and procedures and police standards,” Mitchell explained. “There are very few police agencies that actually have earned the right to be accredited in the State of Washington.”

Moses Lake earned accreditation four times in the past 17 years.

“She assumed this task above and beyond her regular duties,” Mitchell said. “Preparation for these audits is very time consuming and stressful. It’s a lot of work.”

She was presented with the plaque during a Tuesday Moses Lake City Council meeting.
