MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake car salesman Rich Archer is challenging incumbent Richard Teals for his seat on the Moses Lake Irrigation & Rehabilitation District board during a Dec. 8 election.

Archer said he’s always been around the water during his time living in the area.

His parents owned lakefront property and he’s seen the condition of the lake deteriorate.

“There’s lots of things that need to be done,” Archer commented. “I would like to get in there and see if I could help them out.”

“Basically, what I’d like to see happen is that the dredging gets completed,” Archer commented, referring to the dredging of 60 years of sediment from Moses Lake.

He also wants to see Connelly Park developed and for taxpayers to get their money’s worth.

Archer said he’s served on the automotive industry board of directors at Big Bend Community College since 1975. He is currently a director of the Sand Scorpions, an ORV group, of which he is also a founding member.

He’s also worked extensively in the automotive industry, holding the positions of service manager, parts manager, automotive

technician and salesman.

The election is from 1 p.m. to  8 p.m., Dec. 8, at the Moses Lake Fire Station, 701 E. Third Ave., Moses Lake.
