U.S. CONSTITUTION

| December 3, 2009 8:00 PM

Has our Constitution, the founding document of our nation, been destroyed?

In Bork’s book “The Tempting of America,” written two decades ago, he believed that at the time we were halfway along in the destruction of the Constitution.

Now twenty years later Thomas Woods, in his book “Who Killed the Constitution?”, he claims that the Constitution is dead.

Then who killed the Constitution? Call it betrayal or whatever you want, I believe that there are those who were in office and some now in office aren’t interested in preserving but are rejecting it and removing its restraints so that they can do what ever they want.

We need to be more alert as to what’s happening and holding our elected leaders accountable for their actions even if it means throwing them out of office. After all don’t all of them take an oath to support the Constitution?

Let’s remember what sets us apart from other nations is freedom of speech, religion, assembly and the press and not least the right to bear arms.

Without our Constitution these will soon disappear as they have in other countries. Remember under the Constitution, the supreme law of the land, the real authority comes from “we the people.” Politicians and other government employees are public servants. Nothing more, nothing less.

Quote – Thomas Jefferson: “Let no more be heard of confidence in man but find him down from mischief by claims of the Constitution.”
