Russ had a great love for golf which he enjoyed with his sons and many friends. Reading was also a great love to him. Landscaping and gardening brought him much enjoyment which was admired by all. Being with his family brought him his greatest joy.
Russ was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings. Some of his favorites were Elders Quorum president, Branch president on the Tulalip Reservation, and being a temple worker. In his retirement years he enjoyed serving a mission to Tennessee, and also a service mission in Moses Lake.
