Romaine 'Pinky' A. Pinkerton

Romaine (Pinky) A. Pinkerton 87, a Soap Lake, WA, resident passed away on August 18, 2009 at McKay Healthcare in Soap Lake. He was born on December 20th 1921 in Salem, New York. He joined the US Navy on March 4th, 1940. Pinky served as a corpsman during World War II in the South Pacific conflict on Guadalcanal.

After the war, he resided in north Seattle, working as an x-ray technician, barber, and real estate agent. In 1991, he retired with his wife, Joyce, in the City of Soap Lake, WA. He enjoyed fishing, going to garage sales and maintaining the swimming pool for his kids, grandchildren and friends who came to visit.

Pinky is survived by Joyce, his wife of 66years, four children, Jeannine, Brenda, Darlene and Ken, 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Memorial gravesite services will be held at the Ephrata Cemetery, Ephrata, WA, on Saturday, August 22nd, at 11am. Ben Peters, Pinky’s son-in-law, will officiate. A Memorial service will follow at 1 pm at the First Baptist Church in Soap Lake, WA.

Refreshments will follow the service. All family and friends are invited.
