MATTAWA — Thirty-five-year-old Francisca Cespedes died along with her 5-year-old son, Miguel Cespedes, and her 9-month-old son, Cristian Cespedes from carbon monoxide inhalation.

Their bodies were found during fire fighting efforts on Aug. 12, as Grant County Fire District 8 worked to extinguish the Cespedes home and two burning vehicles.

Grant County Coroner Jerry Jasman performed autopsies to identify the victims and their cause of death.

Their home was once a single-wide mobile home, divided into a duplex. By the time firefighters arrived, it was engulfed in flames, according to Grant County Emergency Management spokesperson Kyle Foreman.

The fire started with a faulty extension cord, said Grant County Undersheriff John Turley.
