Jackalea Elaine Inghram

Jackalea Elaine Inghram passed away at Samaritan Hospital on April 26, with her children at her side.

Jackey was born June 11, 1928, to Jack and Gertrude Alden in Faith, S.D. She attended school and graduated in Faith. After graduation, Jackey worked in Faith’s only drug store, where she met and fell in love with Eldon Inghram. They moved to Washington in 1955, where they raised their four children. Jackey was a creative and talented woman. She was a perfectionist when it came to sewing, painting, crafting and cake decorating, she could create a masterpiece with a yard of cloth and or a skein of yarn. She played the piano by ear and blew a mean harmonica. Her other talents included writing, but most often, comical and touching poetry and short stories. Her mind was an incredible thing.

Jackey will be missed by her children Larry Inghram, Jill Newhouse, Donna Gardener and Jack Inghram. She is also survived by her three sisters, Bonnie Nelson, Arla Roth and Corkey Hagen; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband Eldon Inghram in 1974, and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Kayser’s Chapel of Memories with Pastor Joseph Mhyers officiating. Interment will follow in Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are in care of Kayser’s Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake. You may sign the guest book or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com
