MOSES LAKE — Ephrata manicure shop owner Sang Duong is working toward opening what’s believed to be Moses Lake’s first Vietnamese restaurant at 115 W. Third Ave.

He expects to start serving customers in June. The building is now being remodeled.

It was formerly a flower shop, which caught fire in 2005.

He called Moses Lake “a nice town, a lovely town,” when asked why he decided to open a restaurant there.

He also has previous restaurant experience.

He came to Tacoma from Saigon, Vietnam, 17 years ago and eventually moved to Kennewick, Wash., where he also owns a nail shop.

He expanded his business three years ago when he opened Danny Nail in Ephrata.

When the restaurant is ready for business in Moses Lake, parties of up to 100 people can be accommodated, he said.

There will be 50 items on the menu, which will include rice, meat and vegetable dishes, stir fry, cold desserts, rice noodle entrees, tofu dishes, appetizers and pho noodle soup in beef, chicken and pork flavors.

Meals will be available for take out, but delivery will not be offered.

The restaurant’s hours will be from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
