Gibbs wins saddle at Speedhorse Shootout

MOSES LAKE — Quincy Gibbs of Hamilton, Mont. was the winner in the featured Never Won A Saddle race during the Washington Barrel Racing Association Speedhorse Shootout in the Ardel Pavilion of the Grant County Fairgrounds April 18 and April 19.

Riding her quarter horse Hopes First Money, Gibbs beat out 28 other competitors to capture the title. Several years prior, her mother, Kristy Gibbs, was the saddle winner, making this victory even more special.

Gibbs posted a two go-around average time of 34.137 seconds, while Audrey Tibbs of Moses Lake placed second with an average time of 34.247 seconds.

  • Open Jackpot: Kayla Tisdall.
  • $2,000 Novice: Trina Widmer.
  • $1,000 Novice: Cheyenne Allen, Mabton, Wash. 
  • $500 Novice: Pam Capper.
  • $250 Novice: Claretta Walker, Moses Lake.
  • $100 Novice: Jackie Widmer.
  • Youth: Katie Pennington.
  • Junior: Bonnie Robertson.
