PORTLAND, Ore. — Moses Lake senior center Carly Noyes wrapped up her prep basketball career Saturday with an appearance in the 16th annual Les Schwab Northwest Shootout.

The annual shootout features the best senior basketball players from Washington and Oregon and Noyes said she was honored to be invited.

“It was a big honor just being asked,” she said. “There were a lot of top senior athletes. I had a lot of fun doing it.”

The Washington all star team was composed of nine players who are committed to play Division I basketball in college, including Noyes who is committed to play next season for the Washington State Cougars.

The Washington all star team took a 38-35 lead into the half and ran out to a 23-7 run to start the second half to help push their way past the Oregon all stars 75-65 at the Chiles Center on the University of Portland campus.

While Noyes said it was an honor to play in the annual all-star game, she said the best part of the weekend was meeting the girls she has played against during her high school career at Moses Lake.

“Meeting all of the girls that I have played against for the past four years (was the best part),” she said.

Noyes, who helped lead the Chiefs to a sixth-place finish at the 2009 Washington Interscholastic Activities Association 4A girls basketball tournament, was held to just two points in 20 minutes of action.

“I did better defensively than I did offensively,” she said. “It was more about the experience than about individual success.”

With her appearance in the Les Schwab Northwest Shootout, Noyes wrapped up her high school career. Although she won’t play  another high school game, Noyes is looking forward to her future.

“It is weird and sad that everything for high school basketball is over, but I am excited to move on and play in college,” she said.
