Eino (Ed) Jarvi

Eino (Ed) Jarvi, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away April 9, 2009, at Lakeview Home, Inc.

There will be a memorial service for Ed on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1020 South A St., Moses Lake.

Ed was born Aug. 8, 1930, to John and Katie (Elliasson) Jarvi in Bismarck, N.D. He went to school in Wing, N.D., and Bovey, Minn.

In 1949, he entered the U.S. Air Force spending time in Japan and Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1952.

Ed married Sylvia Wall in 1953 and to this union were born three boys, Eugene of Anchorage, Alaska, Don in Moses Lake, and Craig in Puyallup, Wash., two grandchildren Cody and Jessica and one great-grandson Addison, along with many nieces and nephews.

Ed worked at several jobs and in 1955 he started working for Pacific Northwest Bell and retired from AT&T in 1986. Emergency Department wired many, many homes as well as many of the buildings in the downtown Moses Lake area. He worked for Samaritan Hospital from 1990 to 1995. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Telephone Pioneers which he volunteered many hours.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Hilma and Sadie and three brothers, Elmer, Bill and David.

The boys and I want to thank Penny Weber and her staff at Lakeview Home, Samaritan Hospital staff and Dr. Cole Hemmerling for their special care and attention given to Eddie.

Ed was such a good man and will be missed.
