MOSES LAKE — The Washington Barrel Racing Association celebrates their 50th anniversary with the Speedhorse Shootout and barrel racing this weekend.

The Grant County Fairgrounds will host the event in the Ardel Pavilion April 18 and April 19.

Bringing racers from throughout the Northwest, it will offer races for all ages and levels of riding abilities. Racing begins on Saturday with the open race starting at 1 p.m. followed by novice, youth and junior races.

At 6 p.m. Saturday evening, the first go-around of the feature Never Won A Saddle race will begin for competitors that have never won a saddle in barrel racing.

Sunday morning racing begins at 10 a.m. with the second round of the Never Won A Saddle race, followed by the award presentation and a full schedule of barrel races.

The event is open to the public with concessions available in the pavilion.
