Dog show winners announced

MOSES LAKE — Three of 120 Best of Breed winners at the Moses Lake and Ephrata Kennel Club’s dog show last weekend were from the Columbia Basin.

More than 700 dogs competed over the weekend at the Grant County Fairgrounds..

Each day a different set of judges awarded prizes in seven group categories and a Best in Show award. Judges awarded ribbons to 120 dogs for  being the best of their breed at the show.

A standard poodle, from New York, and a Shetland sheepdog, from Port Orchard, Wash., won the Best in Show awards.

The three Best of Breed winners are:

Shannon Edinger, of Moses Lake, won with Patrone, her weimaraner.

Chris Perales, of Moses Lake, won with her bearded collie.

Melissa Olivas, of Soap Lake, won with her English cocker spaniel, Casper.

The rest of the award winners were from outside of the Columbia Basin.

The group and Best of Show winners from Saturday are:

• Wyncliff’s Wanna Be Loved, a wirehaired pointing griffon, won in the sporting group.

• Sedona Cloud Dance, a borzoi, won in the hound group.

• Paragon’s Red Red Wine, a Siberian husky, won in the working group.

• Robrac’s Talladega Nights, a Beddington terrier, won in the terrier group.

• Belletene Shall We Dance, a Brussels griffon, won in the toy group.

• Randenn Tristan Affirmation, a standard poodle, won in the non-sporting group and best in show.

•Von Hamm Bedkar Leather N Lace, a German shepherd, won in the herding group

The group and Best of Show winners from Sunday were:

• Ashton Peaceful Easy Feeling, an Irish setter, won in the sporting group.

• Silver Ridge Shootyme at Windbourne, a black and tan coonhound, won in the hound group.

• Sendache’s Dressed to the Nine, a Bernese mountain dog, won in the working group.

• Tiffanie’s  Rico Suave, a Beddington terrier, won in the terrier group.

• Oakrose High N Mighty, a Pomeranian, won in the toy group.

• Randenn Tristan Affirmation, a standard poodle, won in the non-sporting group.

• Braeleen Foreign Intrigue, a Shetland sheepdog, won in the herding group and best in show.

The results were released Tuesday.
