Sabey continues data center talks in Quincy

QUINCY — Sabey Corporation is continuing talks with the City of Quincy about building between three to four buildings for a data center campus.

The company doesn’t have any tenants for the buildings, but hopes to start construction later this year, said John Ford, Sabey’s director of technology real estate, on Thursday.

Sabey is talking to possible tenants now, but Ford said he wasn’t able to disclose any information about the companies.

When completed, the Quincy site will be a multi-tenant campus, with either multiple tenants in one building or a single tenant per building, he explained.

A preliminary site plan for Intergate.Quincy shows four buildings, with Buildings A and B measuring 196,000 square feet each, Building C, 50,000 square feet and Building D, 20,000 square feet.

A 50-megawatt substation is also included in the plan.

Sabey bought 40 acres of land from the Port of Quincy last fall for the project.

Thirty-five miles from Quincy, near East Wenatchee, Sabey is completing construction of a data center campus called Intergate.Columbia, according to the company’s Web site.

Lately, public interest possibly piqued because “We put additional signs on our property (in Quincy), he said.

Also, a combination of things have gone up at the East Wenatchee site.

Sabey officials recently started talking to Quincy city officials about setting the stage for doing some work this year, he noted.
