Two REC employees sent to hospital

MOSES LAKE — Six REC Silicon employees were exposed to an undisclosed chemical Tuesday morning after a chemical release from a mechanical pump.
The employees were treated at REC. Among the group, two employees were taken to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake and were released without work restrictions, stated Sharon Palmerton of REC.
Environmental monitoring was done during the release and no off site measurements were detected, she stated.
The cause of the release is under investigation.
