MOSES LAKE — After trying out for the Washington State Olympic Development Program (ODP) team pool, Moses Lake’s Danielle Crawford was selected to be a member of the program March 27.

The ODP is a developmental pathway for soccer players hoping to play for the United States national team in the future.

Tryouts for the Washington ODP pool were open to all Washington soccer players born in 1996 or later and 34 players were selected to the pool, including Crawford. She was the only player selected from Eastern Washington.

Crawford has played in the Columbia Basin United youth soccer program for the last two years.

She will continue training with the ODP 96 pool in May.

Washington will send two teams from the ODP pool to compete against teams from other states at the Nike Friendship Cup in Portland, Ore. May 22 through May 25.

The top 18 players competing at the Nike Friendship Cup will be selected to form a Regional ODP team.
