Braves 5, Chiefs 0

MOSES LAKE - The visiting Kamiakin Braves jumped on top of the Chiefs Tuesday night and Moses Lake couldn't recover as Kamiakin earned the 5-0 league victory.

After the match, Moses Lake head coach Ric Char said he was disappointed in his team's performance.

"Well the girls didn't show up," he said. "That's for sure. I think they just got scared."

Kamiakin raced out to a 3-0 halftime lead and the Chiefs couldn't recover as the Braves pressured the Moses Lake defense throughout the game.

The Braves scored two goals early in the second half and controlled the ball to top the Chiefs and earn the Columbia Basin League victory.

The Kamiakin attack slowed the Moses Lake offense, Char said.

"We just had a bad game,' he said. "Everyone has one of them every once in a while."

While Char was frustrated with the loss, he thought Kamiakin played well.

"Kamiakin is a good team," he said. "I don't want to take anything away from them."

The Chiefs host Southridge Thursday night and Char said he hopes his team will rebound.

"We just got to throw this one in the back of the net," he said. "Throw this one away and go from there. Southridge is another tough team and hopefully we don't come out flat. We are still looking for that complete game."
