Max Ray Lang, beloved son and brother, was laid to rest today at Tahoma National Cemetery with full military honors. Max was a decorated veteran who served in the Vietnam War and then continued to serve his country for another five years. He was a member of the Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal, Navy, and the CB’s and traveled the world doing his part to protect his country.

Max received many service awards that included the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Rifle Marksmanship Badge, Vietnam Service Medal and the Purple Heart. He gave his heart and spirit to help build children’s playgrounds for military families, which he received a meritorious accommodation. Max loved God, life, and family; giving freely of himself to help others. He also loved to travel and discover new places that he had never been before. After each trip he would share his wondrous stories with anyone who would listen.

He is survived by his mother Gladys Lang of Othello, his sister and brother in-law Rebecca and GW Henricks and four brothers and their wives; Michael and Phyllis Lang of Othello, Dick and Kate Lang of Othello, David Lang of Othello, Barney and Cindy Lang of Edgewood. He is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews: Dan and Rena Lang of Issaquah, Gregory and Lindsay Lang of Auburn, Nicole and Anthony Arredondo of Moses Lake, Emily Lang of Seattle, Justin Akerley of Othello, Angela and Camron Iverson of Ellensburg, Anthony Henricks of Moses Lake, Louisa Lang of Othello, and Joey Lang of Othello.
