EPHRATA - The Othello Lady Huskies traveled to Ephrata Tuesday night to take on the Tigers in a league soccer match played under the light of a full moon.

The Tigers fell in defeat 4-2 to the Huskies in a game with possible playoff implications.

Othello's Lindsay Garza drew first blood for the Huskies with the game's first goal in the 19th minute.

Ephrata responded with a goal by Alexandria Youngberg in the 34th minute to tie the game 1-1.

Othello bounced back minutes later with a goal by Vanessa McDonald.

With three minutes remaining in the half, Ephrata tied it up at 2-2 with a goal by Kamalpreet Jhutty.

After a 2-2 first half the visiting Huskies shut out the Tigers and scored two goals to seal the Othello victory.

Alyssa Martinez scored an unassisted goal for Othello in the 47th minute and Garza scored her second goal of the match in the 76th minute with an assist from Chantall Guzman.

Othello girls soccer coach Kevin McDonald said the game was competitive and praised the effort from the Ephrata Tigers.

"For the most part Ephrata had pretty good ball control," he said. "We took control of the defense in the second half."

Othello had eight shots on goal, scoring on four.

Ephrata managed four shots on goal, putting two of them in the back of the net.

Othello hosts Davis High School tonight and Ephrata visits division rival Selah High School.
