MOSES LAKE - Following a 2-1 loss Saturday to league rival Wenatchee, Ric Char's Moses Lake Chiefs girls soccer team rebounded to shut out the Kennewick Lions Tuesday night 4-0 in Moses Lake.

Senior midfielder Jasmine Keller led the Chiefs to victory with two scores Tuesday night. Keller's first goal gave the Chiefs a 1-0 halftime lead.

Keller said her first half goals helped lift her team at Lions Field.

"It felt like a pep talk," she said. "Instead of lowering our chins, it boosts our confidence."

Char said he was proud of Keller's performance Tuesday night.

"Jasmine Keller stepped it up," he said.

After Moses Lake's loss Saturday, Char said his team needed to focus on Kennewick.

"Everything was clicking (tonight)," he said. "It was important to bounce back and get a win."

Following the victory, Keller said she was impressed with her team's effort.

"We showed up," she said. "Our game was definitely there, I am proud of my team."

Char said it was important for his team to play well against Kennewick.

"The focus today was to win every lose ball," he said. "We didn't do that against Wenatchee."

The Chiefs return to action Saturday against Hanford and Char said his team must play well.

"We have to (beat Hanford) to stay competitive," he said. "They are a beatable team."
