Betty Mae Pearson

| September 4, 2008 9:00 PM

Born January 7, 1927, to parents Abner and Martha Roy.

Betty Pearson passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on September 2, 2008. She was the beloved wife of Burton Pearson for 59 years. The joy of her heart was her three children, Larry and Loretta Pearson, Deverett and Linda Butrick, and Bob and Dana Pearson. She also adored her six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Betty grew up on a farm in Broken Bow, Neb. along with her seven siblings. She often recounted her days at the one-room school house playing baseball with the boys during recess. After her marriage to Burton in 1949, they pastored several churches in Montana, Oregon and Washington. Many referred to her as the best Sunday school teacher ever.

After retirement, she tended her flower garden, spent time camping with the family, made quilts, sang in the church choir and doted on her family. She had a knack in the kitchen, producing many tasty dishes - especially her pies.

Betty suffered from dementia and lived at Summer Wood for the past twoyears. A special thanks to the understanding staff who gently cared for herneeds. In her early years, she was very elegant and well dressed, and eventhrough her illness, she enjoyed wearing beads and jewelry.

She will be greatly missed but we celebrate with her in her homegoing intoheaven. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Peninsula Evangelical Methodist Church, 2403 W. Texas Street in Moses Lake. Private graveside services will be held at Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are in care of Kayser’s Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.
