Geraldine Ruth Tapper

| September 2, 2008 9:00 PM

Geraldine, 66, of Warden passed away Aug. 25, 2008, at her home in the arms of her husband Roger and daughters Ruth and Robin.

She was born Nov. 20, 1941, in Toronto, Ohio to Walter and Waneda Brown. Her family moved to Washington state in 1959 where she met the love of her life, Roger, on Labor Day. They soon married on Dec. 11, 1959, had four children in Sunnyside and moved to Marysville in 1968, where they lived until moving to Eastern Washington in 1984.

Geraldine touched a lot of people with her funny sense of humor and her loving ways. She enjoyed coaching little league softball and fought very hard for the girls to get treated equally as the boys did.

She loved camping with her family, crocheting and knitting blankets for everyone, baking candy and cookies, and canning. Her and Roger enjoyed traveling around the United States and visiting many casinos. Her friends and family knew that she was an avid fan of county western music. A member of the American Legion and Eagles Club, Geraldine was a beautiful woman, loved by many friends and family who will miss her greatly.

She is survived by her husband Roger of Warden, children; Roger Jr. and Phyllis Tapper of Warden, Ruth and Jeff O'Neill of Arlington, Robin and Jim Thompson of Moses Lake and Rachelle Tapper of Warden. She is also survived by grandchildren; Jaimee Carabello, Ashlee and Ryan Gobin, Jake O'Neill and Jerrid Philpott, great-grandchildren; Mikayla Carabello, Jaydon and Shaliyah Gobin, sister Pearl Brand and brothers Sam, John and Skip Brown.

She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Waneda Brown and brothers Ed, Ben and Buster Brown.

The family would like to thank Betty Brown and Bonnie Briggs, who are very special family members who supported us all through the final days.

We will always love you.

In lieu of flowers send donations to Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
