Rossi rallies Moses Lake

Reminds people to vote

MOSES LAKE - Republican governor candidate Dino Rossi was greeted with the applause of more than 80 people when he walked into C & V Auto in Moses Lake Thursday afternoon.

"Are you ready to win?" he asked the crowd.

Rossi told the crowd of supporters the election is a citizen's movement and 68 percent of his supporters are new contributors to his campaign.

He said he's working to contact people to encourage them to vote and asks others to remind people to vote. As part of his tour across the state, he's met with people in large and small cities.

He said in Grant County there were approximately 5,000 people who could have voted in the last governor race but failed to do so. He said if those people voted it could have changed the outcome of the last election.

"There's no town too small for me to go to because I plan on being governor of the whole state," Rossi said.

He said if elected, he will focus on public safety, eliminating the death tax, alleviating the budget deficit and making Washington state a better environment for small businesses.

Rossi said Gov. Chris Gregoire is to blame for the spending deficit and creating more taxes. He claims she fails to take responsibility for her actions.

"It's a spending problem, not a revenue problem," he said.

Congressman Doc Hastings, R-4th District, was at the rally supporting Rossi.

The crowd applauded and cheered when he asked if they would make Rossi the next governor.

Hastings said there are a few days left until the general election and urged people to remember to vote.

"This year we are going to correct that mistake," he said about the previous governor election.

Rep. Judy Warnick, R-Moses Lake, said this general election is one of the most important elections people will be voting in at the state and national level.

"I am glad to be here supporting our candidate for governor," she said.
