New sets more detailed than last year

MOSES LAKE - People wanting to see Nightscare's haunted house have a couple days left.

The haunted house is located on the Grant County Fairgrounds. It opens at 7 p.m. for children's hour. The adult version of the house opens at 8 p.m. and it will be open until Halloween.

The 15-room house, which features a "Pirates of the Caribbean" set, a dark maze and a rotating tunnel, costs $4 for children and $5 for adults. Woody Rowley, a founding member of the group, said they tried new ideas this year and detailed their sets more.

"We kind of upgraded all of our sets," he said. "It's just a whole new ball game with some of the stuff that we came up with … This year's a little (brighter) of a house, so we had to make it faster."

Money from the house goes to various charities, such as Relay for Life. The group also provides Christmas trees, presents and dinner to three to five local families during the holiday season.
