Roger Doyle Hayes

Roger Doyle Hayes, 72, longtime Warden resident, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane. Graveside memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Warden. Arrangements are in care of Kayser’s Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake. Roger was a longtime Warden resident. He was born March 14, 1936, to Frank and June (Banks) Hayes in Cassville, Mo. He graduated from Cassville High, after which he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp in 1957. He proved to be an excellent marksman and soon became a top rifle instructor. He met his wife, Arleen, in 1956. They were married Jan. 2, 1958, in Warden. They then resided in San Diego until 1961 when Roger was honorably discharged. After moving back to Warden, they began farming and started their own excavating business. He particularly enjoyed flying aircraft, golfing and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, camping and boating at Priest Lake, Idaho. He is survived by his wife, Arleen, and son Doyle (Heidi), his grandsons, Jeremy and Brandon Torrey, of Warden. He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved daughter Leandra Lynn.
