Work starts in November

GRANT COUNTY - The Grant County commissioners approved starting work on paving a walking path around Gen. James H. Doolittle Park near Moses Lake.

Advanced Excavation of Moses Lake won the contract with a bid of $35,745. The 10-foot wide path will extend from Doolittle Drive to Patton Boulevard, and go around the park. It includes at least five new street lights.

"It looks like it's going to be pretty nice," Grant County Commissioner LeRoy Allison said.

Bids on the path ranged from about $35,745 to $58,000. The next highest bidder was almost $9,000 higher than Advanced Excavation. Allison said the county was hoping to have the work done by the middle of November.
