Margaret Ann Kubo

Margaret Ann Kubo, 62, longtime Moses Lake resident, died at home on Friday, Oct. 17, 2008. Margaret was born December 7, 1945 in Spokane to Walter W. and Margaret Ellen (Jones) Lutz.

Margaret graduated high school in Spokane, Whitman College, in Walla Walla, and received her master’s of science degree from the University of the Pacific. Her training was in medical technology and she worked at Deaconess Hospital, Lab Director, Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic in Toppenish and Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake.

Margaret married Karl C. Kubo, MD on Dec. 21,1991, in Moses Lake. Margaret was a Master Gardener, she loved gardening, reading murder mysteries, loved to meet and help people with their taxes, and loved to help with community blood draws. Margaret was a member of several clubs and organizations, Master Gardener, WSU extension, IRS-AARP tax aide, Moses Lake Conservation Commission member and she was an avid Seahawks fan.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Karl C. of Moses Lake; brother William (Leslie) Lutz Jr., sister Katherine J. Lutz, nephews Christopher Lutz, Bill Lutz and family, all of Spokane. She is also survived by very special friends Fran, Joyce, Jan, and Mary, who will be remembered for their special friendship and love for Maggie.

Karl would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jill A. Dudik Bross and staff for their unending love and support, the Moses Lake Pediatrics and Community Health Pediatrics, Dr. Julie Smith, Wenatchee Valley Clinic Oncology, the Moses Lake Clinic oncology staff, and Central Basin Home Health & Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, Margaret would want any donations made to any of the following, Grant-Adams Master Gardener Fund, National Public Radio/Northwest Public Radio, Nature Conservatory or to the Moses Lake City Library.

Margaret’s family has asked Carver Family Funeral Home, Moses Lake, to care for arrangements.
