Virginia S. Hill (Ginny), 87, a 43-year resident of Moses Lake, passed away Oct. 13 2008, after a brief illness.

Virginia was born Nov. 5 1920, in Seattle to Eugene and Florence Charroin.

Virginia spent her childhood and young adult life in Seattle. She met Robert E. Hill after her graduation from Franklin High School. They were married on Dec. 4, 1943, following a long courtship, and remained so until Bob’s death in 1988.

Their daughter Merrily was born on March 9, 1947, and Greg followed on March 2 1950.

The family moved to Moses Lake in 1961, where they built their home on Northshore Dr. Bob worked for Pacific N.W. Bell (which became AT& T) his entire adult life, while Ginny attended to the home and the arduous task of raising the children. Later in life, Ginny was a bookkeeper for various small businesses, as well as the Moses Lake United Methodist Church, her second family. Ginny rarely missed a Sunday Service, even when she could no longer drive thanks to those who so graciously provided her with transportation.

Virginia was a longtime member of P.E.O. and fully appreciated her sisterhood.

Ginny and Bob were committed boating enthusiasts. They enjoyed escaping to the beauty of Priest Lake, Lake Roosevelt, and the Straits of Juan de Fuca in Puget Sound, often in the company of Jim and Barbara Hamilton, and their beloved collie dog, Dandy.

Virginia is survived by her daughter Merrily Harris (Jim) in Spokane.
