Pearl 'Skip' Munson

Pearl (“Skip”) Munson 84, of Moses Lake passed away at St. John’s Hospital in Longview, Wash., on Sunday morning Oct. 12, 2008. Skip had worked at the Moses Lake Public Library for 48 years, retiring in 2004 because of health concerns. She was born in Chicago, Ill., on May 5, 1924, to Frederick and Antonia Hitzemann. After graduating from high school she took some college classes. She worked at UCLA in the science department during WW II. It was there that she met Albert Munson. Skip married Al and moved to Ellensburg after the war. After eight years she and Al moved to Moses Lake where she has resided for 53 years. She spent the last five weeks of her life in

Longview, Wash., living with her daughter. Skip loved to read. She would fall asleep every night reading a book. She also loved to play golf, collect antiques and loved animals, especially

dogs. She had a sharp mind and was looking forward to voting in the current presidential election. She kept her spunk, bright carefree wit right to her last breaths of life. She touched many lives during her time at the library. She is deeply loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by a loving family, including her two children Fred Munson and Pat (Munson) Reistroffer; a son-in-law Bob Reistroffer; Fred’s fianc/e Sharon Canary; a sister Mrytle Colwell and her golden retriever “Pride.” Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. at Kayser’s Chapel of Memories.
