Firefighters Give Burns the Boot

MOSES LAKE - Firefighters were in front of area businesses Saturday, boot in hand, to raise funds for the Northwest Burn Foundation.
The fund-raiser, called Give Burns the Boot helps the foundation provide support to burn victims and spread prevention awareness.
Grant County Fire District No. 5 held the boot drive in front of Safeway, Walmart, Lep-re-kon, and Food Pavilion from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., with another boot in front of Sporty's Steakhouse.
Kale Guerin, an explorer with Grant County Fire District No. 5 collected donations in front of Safeway.
He said some of the funds help send young burn victims to a summer camp, in addition to research, prevention and awareness.
The event coincides with National Fire Prevention Week.
