River View sweeps Warden
Prep volleyball results
WARDEN - The Warden Cougars girls volleyball team could not overcome a first game loss as they fell to league rival River View in three games.
The Panthers stopped the Cougars 25-18, 25-11 and 25-18 to earn the South Central Athletic Conference victory.
With the loss, Warden fell to 2-4 in conference and 3-5 overall.
The Panthers sit atop the SCAC and Warden head coach Jeff Kottong said his team struggled against the Panthers.
"River View is the league leader," he said. "We struggled tonight with our passing and our serve-receiving.
Amanda Martinez led the Cougars with five assists and Cassandra Kisler led Warden with nine digs.
Emma Bisnett added three kills, four blocks and three aces in the loss.
Kacey Kisler also had two kills , three blocks and six digs for the Cougars.
Kottong said River View is a solid volleyball team and Warden could not match their performance.
"We weren't strong enough to overcome their strengths," he said.
The Cougars next host Connell Thursday at Warden High School. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

WILSON CREEK - The Devils of Wilson Creek High School took advantage of nine kills and six aces from Kelsey Campbell to stop the Koyotes in three games Tuesday night.
The Devils won the three matches 25-11, 25-11 and 25-8 to earn the victory.
Brenna Stevens added six kills and six aces, while Jackie Treat led Wilson Creek with 23 assists.
The Devils return the action Thursday night when they travel to Easton High School to take on the Jaguars. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
