QUINCY - The soccer powerhouse from East Valley High School in Yakima made the trip north to Quincy to take on the Lady Jacks in a Central Washington Athletic Conference soccer match Tuesday night.

Quincy's young team, led by head coach Matthew Kimmel, were no match for the visiting Red Devils.

East Valley used superior size, speed and experience to rout the Lady Jacks 9-0.

The lopsided loss was not as difficult to take as Kimmel expects his team to perform to the best of their ability.

"Before they take the field, each girl has a goal," he said. "If they accomplish that goal, that's as important as the win. It's not so much about the final score."

The Red Devils jumped on the scoreboard in the first two minutes of play to lead 1-0.

East Valley would continue to press the Lady Jacks as the Red Devils built a 6-0 halftime lead.

The Lady Jacks held on for the first eight minutes of the second half before allowing the first of three second-half goals from East Valley.
