ROYAL CITY - The Warden Cougars traveled to Royal City Friday night to take on the undefeated Knights in South Central Athletic Conference 1A football action.

Not even the rain could slow down the Knights offense as they rolled over the Cougars for a 61-0 victory.

With the exception of two interceptions, the Knights scored on every possession they had in the first half to earn the 55-0 lead heading into the locker room.

Knights head coach Wiley Allred play second- and third-team players and saw the game as an opportunity to teach sportsmanship in the second half.

"We used it as a learning experience for the younger kids," Allred said. "It was tough for both teams."

Warden Cougars quarterback Arturo Reyes rushed seven times for 16 yards and was six of 21 passing for 39 yards and two interceptions.

Royal's Connor Paysee was nine of 13 passing for 121 yards and two interceptions.

The victory gives the Knights a 5-0 overall, while Warden drops to 1-4 .

Royal travels to Kiona-Benton Friday night, while the Cougars host Highland.
